(ROELAND PARK, KS) – Adrienne Vallejo Foster, a former Mayor of Roeland Park and a Small Business Administration official who is running for Kansas’ Third Congressional district seat, released the following statement today regarding a $2,000 donation from Rep. Ilhan Omar’s to Rep. Sharice Davids on September 27, 2019.
“Rep. Sharice Davids is doing everything she can to hide from voters. Her alliances with radical Democrats in Washington might explain why. By taking campaign money from anti-Semitic Rep. Ilhan Omar, Sharice Davids showed she is more interested in representing far left extremists in Washington than the voters of Kansas’ 3rd District,” Foster said.
Omar once said, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”
In a March 4, 2019 letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Anti-Defamation League said this about Oma’s rhetoric: “Accusing Jews of having allegiance to a foreign government has long been a vile anti-Semitic slur that has been used to harass, marginalize, and persecute the Jewish people for centuries.”
“Sharice Davids has to make a choice. She can either represent the voters of Kansas’ 3rd District, or she can represent anti-Semitic extremists in Washington. She can’t have it both ways. Davids can start by returning this donation to Rep. Omar and then formally apologize to the voters of the 3rd District for signaling her support for Omar’s anti-Semitic rhetoric. If she fails to make this choice, I trust the voters of the 3rd District will choose to send her home this November,” Foster said.
Adrienne Vallejo Foster, a second-generation Hispanic from the 3rd district, recently served as the Region 7 Advocate for the Office of Advocacy at the U.S. Small Business Administration. In this role, she worked with small business owners in the 3rd district and the broader Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska region. She worked alongside state and local government agencies, state legislators, and trade associations, to be the voice of small business and to help small businesses overcome burdensome regulations and other roadblocks.
